What You Need To Know About Common Scams And Rip Offs

As you search the web you are bound to see lots of ads offering you big bucks for online jobs. But how to you know which is legitimate and which is a scam? Simple! Just take a closer look at what their ad copy has to say. It can be a shock to what you will find out.

Normally all you have to do is look for those ads that tells you to pay them up front to start working. That is a red flag right there. A real job pays you not you pay them. At best they will just give you a list of companies that pay or give away something for taking surveys or what not. You can get that info for free with a simple search on the web.

Also if they give you a physical address to there business just type it in to the search engines. Most schemers provide you virtual addresses to fool you into thinking that they are a real business. Really it is just an address to a place that is a P.O. box service that forwards any mail they get. Many of the con artist live outside the U.S.A.

Don't forget about the ones that tell you that they will give you free information and all you have to do is pay for shipping. This is just a way to get your credit card numbers and then they charge you a high monthly membership fee. It will be in the small print of there ad telling you that receiving this free kit means you agree to be a member. Unfortunately you will not see it because of the big bold words telling you what you want to hear. Oh and by the way, they will tell you that you had seven days to cancel and since you did not then they get to keep your money. The best you can do is stop any additional payments.

Take a close look at their other links they have on their pages. They may have a "privacy page" or an "about us" page but when you click it there is no page found or it links back to the main page. They just put those links on their to make their websites seem more creditable. They know that most people will not click those links but they will see them.

Take a look at the count down clock that some con artist use on there website. The second you land on their site the clock starts ticking down. You think you only have a short time before the price goes up. But if you refresh the page you see that the clock starts over again. If it does then you know it is a scam. This pressure scheme has been around for a while now so test it out the next time you see one.
