The Last Lecture By Randy Pausch Audio Book

There is a unique tradition in Carnegie Mellon University. Every year, one of their faculty member will be asked to deliver a lecture called The Last Lecture. The faculty members were asked to speak on what is the most important thing in their lives as they face their own imminent death.
When Professor Randy Pausch was asked to talk, he did not have to imagine about his impending death. The truth is that he only have between three to six months to live. He had been diagnosed with a terminal cancer. His lecture however, was not about dying, but about achieving one’s childhood’s dreams.
In this lecture, Randy spoke about the importance of overcoming obstacles, to achieve your dream and to help others to achieve theirs too. One of the most memorable quotation from Randy in the audio book was, “time is all you have… and you may find one day that you have less than you think.”
The Last Lecture audio book is about living and it was a summation of all that Randy had believed in. The printed form of the book was first published in April 2008. The printed form of the book is thin and can be easily read in just few sittings. The book is also full of quotations such as those from Roman philosopher Seneca.
Randy is a wonderful story teller and capture what is truly essential in life in the slender book. It was book that address his own struggle against cancer, but always from the angle of finding creative solution to a problem. The Last Lecture was written solely for his three young children, but contains wisdom and voices that everyone can benefit from.
It sometimes take years before we ever found a book that can have everlasting impression on us. The effect is tremendous. We believe that many other readers around the world shared our feelings. If is as if we are part of the book ourselves and certainly not many books are able to do that.
Some of us may think that it will not be long before another similar book will overtake the popularity of this book. If that day comes, so be it. However, one thing remain unchanged. There is some people who will never forget the message of this book. We are of course referring to Randy's children. After all, that was the reasons why this book was written.
